BRUNEL STREET WORKS: SUSPENSION OF HML STAFF SERVICES
We regret to inform you that effective immediately HML and our partner, B-hive Site Staff Solutions, will be suspending on-site concierge services to Brunel Street Works. We understand that this may cause disruption and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
As you are aware, HML has been providing various services to the estate, including arranging repairs and maintenance, parcel management, coordinating contractors and security. However, due to a shortage of funds, we are no longer able to continue providing these services.
Unfortunately, until now the Management Company (Countryside Partnerships – formerly ‘Vistry Group’), has still not approved the draft 2022-23 service charge budget and, despite our best efforts over a series of 10 months trying to resolve this with them, they continue to withhold their approval to issue to residents. The situation has resulted in an untenable cashflow position which means we are unable to pay suppliers – including HML and B-hive Site Staff Solutions.
We have explored various options to address this issue, including seeking additional short-term funding from Countryside Partnerships but regrettably, none of these options have been successful. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to suspend services until we are able to secure the necessary funds to resume them. Until Countryside Partnerships approves the budget and/or provides a short-term funding solution, the position is simply unsustainable and we cannot continue to operate without being recompensed for our service.
In the interim, the concierge office will be closed and there will be no parcel management facility or on-site presence. We understand that this is not an ideal situation, but we assure you that we are doing everything we can to address this issue as quickly as possible. This includes the 2022-23 service charge budget being approved and issued.
